Successful Webinar with Keele University
Pranav Brahmbhatt, Int. Managing Director of The Language Gallery says: “Events like this are why students choose to come to us over other language schools. Experiencing a real UK university lecture is great practice for developing our students’ listening skills and understanding of academic terminology. Feedback from students has been extremely positive so far with these regular events and we intend to continue to offer more innovative sessions like this in conjunction with our university partners.”
On the 25th of March 2021, The Language Gallery co-hosted a ‘mini-lecture’ for students with our partner Keele University.
Dr Helen Millward from Keele Business School led the session which focused on Management. Dr Millward talked about Keele University and shared with us its impressive rankings & awards. She also talked about the ‘Keele experience’ as she showed various images of the beautiful midlands-based campus and buildings, and talked about the student support services available. Dr Millward also talked extensively about the Business School and the courses and pathways they offer. Dr Millward finished the session by leading a ‘mini’ lecture on Ethical Consumerism, a subject taught within Keele Management courses.
It was a very thought provoking session that asked many questions participants may not have thought about before. It was an excellent experience for all our students to get the feel of a real UK university lecture. This will stand them in great stead as they prepare to progress to university after studying with us here at The Language Gallery.
The session was attended not just by current students but by potential & future students and business partners from around the world with attendees from many nationalities such as Japan, Brazil, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Mexico, China, Nigeria, France & more.
Keele University recognises the TLG Pre-sessional course as proof of English language proficiency, so students do not need to take any additional test, such as IELTS.
