We want to make sure you settle into your new life in the UK so you focus on improving your English. If you’re learning General English in Manchester, studying one of our academic courses in Birmingham, or improving your IELTS reading skills in London, you will want to go back to a comfortable home from home.
Halls of residence
Halls of Residence offers many great options for students who would like to live independently but stay with other international or UK students. Student life in Manchester, Birmingham and London is always on the go and each city offers a great range of activities and attractions.
Through our trusted accommodation partners you can book a wide variety of accommodation options to meet your needs and your budget. From single rooms with shared bathrooms, kitchens and social spaces to self-contained studios, whatever you’re looking for, we can help find you a room.
Most of all, your safety in halls of residence is important to us. If you choose halls of residence you will also benefit from having additional security that may include CCTV or management teams on site 24 hours a day.
Most residences are quite large and all residences will have communal areas and kitchen facilities. You can choose from a single Room where you have a private room but share the kitchen and bathroom. Or, a single en-suite where you will have a private room with a private bathroom but the kitchen is shared. If you want more privacy, you can choose a studio which will have a private room with a private bathroom and kitchen included in one room.
All residence rooms will include a private room with a bed, storage space, a desk and chair to study and laundry facilities at an additional cost within the residence. Most residences will also include weekly cleaning of the common areas and some residences will provide bedding and kitchen packs.
Homestay accommodation gives you an excellent opportunity to explore British culture whilst living in the UK and improving your English language skills. Homestay gives you the chance to settle into your new city and experience life like a local. Living in homestay means that you will be included as part of the family so you may be able to share meals with the homestay hosts or relax with them in the evenings.
The homestays available are normally found in residential areas of the cities. Homestays will vary in cost according to location; the closer to the city centre, the more expensive. The cities are all large, multicultural and extremely cosmopolitan cities and this is reflected in our homestay selection. What they all have in common is that English is the main spoken language at home, giving you the opportunity to practise the language!
Homestay accommodation is outsourced to specialised agencies that are registered with the British Council. These agencies have high standards and their main concern is to provide you with a comfortable, clean and safe environment while you are living in the UK.
